Foxton were on the road Saturday, in a league fixture against Witchford and came out 3-0 winners.
Foxton started on the front foot and pegged the home team back and scored a good early goal on 3 minutes, when Jez volleyed home from 20 yards out. Alfie nearly doubled the lead, but his curled effort fell narrowly wide of the upright. Foxton stayed on top but were unable to capitalise, which then led to an even 10/15-minute spell in the game, where the home team gave as good as they got but with without creating an opening.
As the half went on, Foxton began to get back on top and doubled their lead, when Alfie intercepted a back pass and slotted past the keeper. Moments later, it was 3-0 when Alfie, who had been in thick of the action for most of the half, was fouled in the box, earning his side a penalty, which Liam converted.
HT 0-3
The start second half was a scrappier affair, with Foxton seemingly going through the motions and the home team battling hard to get a goal back. They had a good chance on 65 minutes, with a free header from a corner but the header flew past the post.
Foxton finally picked up their game a little and went on to create a few chances - Jack Martin had- a one-on-one saved, a lobbed effort go over the bar and looked to have been hauled back, when he looked destined to get on the end of Liam’s ball across the back line. Alfie then clattered the post after beating his man, and Charlie curled an effort narrowly wide, then had a miss kick from 6 yards out when it looked as though he would score.
