Foxton made it three wins on the bounce on Saturday, after they picked up a 3-0 win away to newly promoted Milton.
The home side started the game brightly and had the first shot on goal, which Robbie saved. Foxton managed to take the lead on 20 minutes, when the Milton keeper hit a goal kick straight to Jake Williams, who did well to hold off the home defender and finish, as the ball really wouldn’t settle for him.
Foxton then had a stronger spell in the game and got their rewards when Jack Davis made it 2-0, with a cool finish, after George Gillies had nicked possession in the middle of the park and played him in.
Early in the second half, Milton had half chance from 20 yards, which was struck well but Robbie managed to put it round the post. He was called into action again shortly after, with the same result. Foxton had to work hard as Milton piled on the pressure, but the back line was up to the task, with some determined defending, putting their bodies on the line on a couple of occasions.
Foxton introduced Jacob Leighton and Jack Brandon, replacing Williams and Davis.
Leighton was soon in the action and had chance after he was played in by Luca but his effort went over the bar. Brandon then played in Alfie, who had a chance, but his shot was off target. Going into the last 10 minutes, the home side kept playing and pushing for a goal, which they deserved after a decent performance. They came very close on 82 mins when they had a shot cannon back off the post.
They also had a couple of half chances but failed to find target.
Foxton wrapped up the game on 87mins when Leighton finished well across the keeper from Dusi’s free kick.
