Foxton picked up another hard fought 3 points on the road, after a 3-2 win at Hemingford.
Foxton started on the front foot and had a close-range effort saved early on.
Moments later, Foxton took the lead when Josh Segrave scored from close range, after El’s headed Luca’s corner back across goal. Joshy then should’ve doubled the lead, when after a glorious first touch, he had the keeper to beat from close range but could only find the keepers legs.
Liam then curled an effort narrowly wide of the top right corner.
After our positive start and dominance, the home side battled their way back into it and had a good chance, from a header from a corner, which Louis saved.
They followed this up soon after, with another chance from the left winger but his shot went over the bar.
HT 0-1
The second half had a similar pattern to the first, with Foxton starting bright and doubling the lead on 48 mins, when Alfie curled home a free kick from 25 yards out.
The two-goal lead didn’t last long, as the home team pulled a goal back with a well struck shot from the edge of the box. The home side started to rally, and Foxton had to dig in and deal with a host of high balls, which they just managed to do.
Eventually, the pressure told though, as Hemingford equalised on about 80 mins, when they scored from a set piece at the back post.
The last ten mins were frantic, with both teams searching for the win.
It was debutant Ben Sawyer who grabbed the winning goal in the 92nd minute, when he headed home from close range, after Liam’s free kick was head back across the goal.
