Foxton fought out a tough close game at home, against Over on Saturday and picked up another point after a 2-2 draw.
After a fairly even start, the visitors had the first real opening, following a free kick from the right side, which was fortunately, headed wide.
Foxton took the lead in the 16th minute, when Navid had the ball on the bye line and pulled it back to Ed Watson, who drilled his shot under the keeper and into the net.
Two minutes later, Foxton doubled their lead with Navid again the provider, this time after a strong direct run, he played out to El’s on the left who, from 25 yards, unleashed a powerful shot which took a tiny deflection and sailed nicely over the keeper.
The game was still pretty even, with work rate and endeavour surpassing quality.
On 35 minutes, Louis made a good save with a full stretch dive and tipped the ball round the post from what looked a certain goal.
Just before the half, Over did pull a goal back, when a ball deep into the box was kept alive at the back stick, a deft touch from the Over player gifted his team mate an easy header in the six-yard box.
HT 2-1
The second half started, and Foxton appeared to start the brightest of the sides without causing Over too much hassle.
The general play was still based on hard graft and lacked real quality, none the less a good tough affair.
Over started to pile the pressure on the Foxton back line, with many high balls being pumped up the field, full credit to the back line, for standing tall and keeping them at bay.
Foxton then had a couple of attacks and had a chance from a corner, which Stuart managed to head on target, but the Over keeper was in the right place at the right time, to keep the header out with his outstretched arm.
Foxton were still under the cosh, as Over kept plugging away but still nothing clear cut came their way.
Another Foxton corner caused problems for the Over back line but Dave Limber at the far post, couldn’t make connection from close range and the chance was gone.
Over got the reward for all their pressure in the 95th minute, with a well taken goal into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
