Foxton started a run of home games with a 2-0 home victory against Newmarket Res.
After a fairly even start, where both sides had similar identical chances with the ball getting flashed across the goal, with nobody on the end of it - Foxton started to get on top of proceedings and were pretty much on top all over the park, with the midfielders doing their jobs brilliantly.
An error in the Foxton back line gifted the visitors a good chance to score but Louis saved well.
Foxton didn’t let that bother them and they stayed on top.
On 30 mins, Sam’s free kick was headed over by Stu. Shortly after, Sam curled a free kick goal-wards but unfortunately, it came back off the cross bar.
Sam stayed in the thick of the action, picked up possession and ran goal-wards, jinking past a couple of defenders and into the box. Unfortunately, this promising opening came to nothing, as he was tackled well, when he looked poised to strike.
Foxton, unfortunately lost Alfie early in the half when he had to come off after a strong challenge from an opposing defender.

Foxton started the second half and were again on top, with a good disciplined, high-energy approach.
A deserved lead came on about 65 minutes, when Jake latched on to a poor back pass from a Newmarket player, then rounded the visiting keeper to slot the ball into an empty net.
Another chance came1 minute later from another poor back pass, which was again intercepted by Jake, who headed goal-wards, this time the ball took a bobble, and Jake couldn’t find the target.
Foxton were comfy and restricted the visitors to shots from distance and there weren’t too many of them.
The lead was doubled on 78 mins when Charlie surged forward and had his effort saved, however the rebound fell into his path, and he slotted the ball home with ease from close range.
Newmarket really struggled to penetrate the Foxton defence.
On 85 minutes, Toby had a good shot from the right well saved, resulting in a corner which Stu got on the end of, but his header again, went wide.
In the dying stages of the game, Newmarket had a fierce effort from distance well saved by Louis to keep his team’s clean sheet.
