Foxton wrapped up 2024, with a 2-0 home victory against C.U.P.
Two goals inside the first ten minutes were enough to see Foxton pick up another valuable victory.
After a positive start, we took the lead on 3 minutes when George’s long throw was only half cleared, Liam kept the ball alive, with a towering header above a challenging defender, which found Jake about 6 yards out, he made no mistake and slotted cooly past the keeper.
The lead was soon doubled when a long searching kick from Louis, found Alfie on the left, who cruised past his man and headed goal-wards, he struck a neat shot, beating the keeper at his near post but unfortunately for him, it hit the post, with the rebound falling nicely for Charlie, to poke home from close range.
Foxton stayed on top for the next 10/15 minutes but slowly let their levels drop, as the visitors grew into the game, with some quick attacking moves. However, none of which caused Foxton any damage.

The second half was fairly open and even. Press were working hard to get back into the game and had some good attacking moments, but they were unable to create anything clear cut.
Foxton had some good counter attacking passages but on nearly every occasion that final pass went astray. On the occasion it didn’t, the Press keeper saved well with his legs, from an Ed Watson shot, after good work between him and Alfie.
Overall, a solid performance and win, meaning we sign of for 2024 sitting in 4th position.
