Foxton suffered a 2-1 away defeat on Saturday, at the hands of Hardwick.
The game itself was a fairly close affair, with both teams producing some decent passages of play and some, not so. None the less, it was a competitive affair. For Foxton, most of their joy came from wide men Alfie and Josh Segrave, who were proving hard to mark but we couldn’t find any early openings, just a couple of half chances, off- target.
Hardwick were similar and also off- target with efforts from distance.
A lapse in concentration gifted the home team the lead, when they intercepted a ball out wide from El’s,
The ball was played quickly square into the 6-yard box for a close-range tap in.
Foxton recovered well and equalised through Jake Williams, when he scored from close range, after more good work from Segrave on the right side.
HT 1-1
The second half was similar, although Hardwick had a few better chances, Louis made a couple of good saves, and they also struck the woodwork.
Jake had good chance for Foxton to take the lead, but his well hit shot was saved by the home keeper.
With 10 mins to go, Hardwick took the lead, capitalising on another Foxton error producing a simple finish.
Foxton huffed and puffed but were unable to get an equalising goal.
